FIREBIRDGASSのISHIが生涯現役の最終章として長く構想し、活動を開始させたKISSSSAKI。これまでに比べてよりメロディーを大切にし、サイバーな世界観をエッセンスとした近未来型のパンクバンドが誕生した。ギターはEXCLAIMや日本脳炎など、様々なスタイルでそのプレイを披露してきたPATTY氏。ドラムは変幻自在なパンクスタイルを確立してきたRATCHILDのNAOが担当。そしてFIREBIRDGASSからの盟友KENZIの脱退後、新たにベースとしてYU-GOが合流。アルバム制作過程での紆余曲折はあったが、その分一音一音全てに意味が籠ったこれ以上ないデビューアルバムの完成と相成った。
KISSSSAKIのスタイルはSEを多用しつつも、根底にあるパンクやロックの礎は強く、サイバーで冷たいイメージには終始しない。楽曲は緻密に練りこまれ、ギミックだらけでも煩く感じないのはそれが必要な音だから。遊びはあれどそこにも意味があるのだ。既に完売となっている自主制作のDEMO CDにも収録されていた楽曲や、ライブでの定番曲なども勿論収録。期待を裏切らない内容に仕上がっていると断言できる。
PSYENCE WORKSによるメインアートワークも秀逸で、KISSSSAKIというバンド、今作の意図を見事にビジュアライズさせている。

The long-awaited, full-powered debut album from TOKYO SHOCK PUNK band KISSSSAKI is finally complete.
KISSSSAKI was launched as the ultimate “lifelong active” chapter envisioned by ISHI of FIREBIRDGASS—an idea he had nurtured for many years. Compared to his previous projects, this band puts a stronger emphasis on melody while incorporating a cyber-themed worldview, resulting in a near-future style of punk unlike anything before.

Guitar duties are handled by PATTY, known for his diverse playing styles in EXCLAIM, Japanese Encephalitis, and other acts. Drums come from NAO of RATCHILD, who has carved out his own shape-shifting form of punk drumming. And following the departure of ISHI’s longtime comrade KENZI from FIREBIRDGASS, YU-GO has joined as the new bassist.
The album’s production journey was far from smooth, but precisely because of those twists and turns, every single note is filled with purpose—resulting in a debut album that simply could not have been made any other way.

KISSSSAKI’s style makes frequent use of SEs and electronic elements, yet its foundation remains firmly rooted in punk and rock, ensuring the sound never becomes cold or merely “cyber” for its own sake. The songs are intricately constructed, and even with layers of gimmicks and details, nothing feels excessive—because every sound exists for a reason. There’s playfulness, too, but even that carries intention.
Tracks from their already sold-out self-produced demo CD, as well as staples from their live set, are of course included. It’s safe to say the album delivers everything fans have been hoping for.

The main artwork by PSYENCE WORKS is also superb, visually capturing the essence of KISSSSAKI and the concept behind this release with stunning precision.
