冷戦時の旧西ドイツにて結成されたドイツ最古のハードコアパンクバンド、OHL(オーハーエル)が初となる来日に合わせてリリースする、編集盤CD！
結成はなんと1980年。こちらのCDがリリースされる2025年には45周年を迎えるという事実はなんとも驚異的だ。これだけの長きに渡る活動の中、幾度かのメンバーチェンジはあったもののPUNKバンドとしての姿勢を貫き、型破りなまでのメッセージを発し続けてきた。様々な時代背景からも察するに決して簡単な道ではなかったであろうことは想像に容易い。何をもってパンクなのか、ハードコアなのかということを明示することは出来ないが、彼らがそうでないと言える要素を見つけるのは難しいだろう。激動の歴史の中で生み出された楽曲群を是非体感して欲しい。今回の作品はいわゆる編集盤だが、日本でのライブで披露される予定の楽曲を詰め込んだベスト盤と言える内容になっている。

Born in West Germany during the Cold War, one of the oldest hardcore punk bands, OHL have released their compilation CD to coincide with their shows in Japan!

From their formation in 1980, this CD celebrates their astonishing 45th anniversary in 2025. With a history this long, the band has undergone many member changes, yet they have remained a PUNK band through and through. They continue to pass on their message, however unconventional. As history’s context shifts, it’s easy to imagine that the road here has not been easy. What designates a band to be a punk band or a hardcore band is difficult to define, but it’s just as difficult to define what doesn’t make OHL both. Have a listen to these song created amongst historical turmoil. Although this release is technically a compilation album, it can also be enjoyed as a tracklist of greatest hits and as an outline to the setlists that will be performed live in Japan.
